Mike Murphy grayAs a degreed Electrical Engineer and Sales and Marketing professional, Mike brings a wide range of industrial and technical expertise to the table, ranging from extensive, first-hand experience in design and engineering, to corporate leadership and business management roles in the industrial automation industry. His intricate familiarity with the relevant markets and application environment of our clients, his passion and relentless drive are major assets which he is eager to contribute.
 
Mike received his B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Manhattan College in New York City in 1986. Beginning his career as an automation systems designer and project manager, Mike traveled the world extensively, working with companies in Europe, Asia and South America. Eventually, Mike took on a leadership role as Vice President of Engineering for New Jersey based Circonix Technologies, a leading industrial systems integrator specializing in automation solutions and machinery rebuilds in the Paper, Film and Foil industry.
In 1998 Mike relocated from the East coast to join German based Rittal Corporation at it’s North American headquarters in Springfield, Ohio. Mike initially served as Product Manager of the company’s most important Industrial Products, which includes the entire range of packaging solutions for industrial automation, power distribution and related systems and components. His outstanding contribution subsequently earned his promotion to Marketing Director for North America, with overall responsibility of the company’s entire product range and its positioning in the US market. As part of the executive team, he worked closely with all North American market sectors, channels and sales resources, facilitated domestic product design & development and carefully cooperated with Rittal’s German leadership and other international subsidiaries to develop, integrate and effectively position products and system solutions into the US market. During his tenure, the company more than doubled its North American sales volume, while Mike gained exceptional understanding and effectively managed the extensive challenges of marketing superior German industrial technology in the American application environment.
 
In 2004, Mike seized the opportunity to rejoin the Circonix team as an equity partner and Vice President of Sales and Marketing. In addition to his corporate responsibilities, he established a new operation in Dayton Ohio. Following the successful sale of the company to a leading OEM, Mike has been actively engaged in managing, starting or resurrecting a number of small businesses in a true entrepreneurial role, ultimately joining TransAdvantage in 2013.
 
Mike’s primary focus is Account Management and Business Development on the US side of the Atlantic. In addition, he coordinates specific marketing and product management projects on behalf of our clients and is intimately engaged in technology transfer issues, performance program evaluations and positioning tasks.
