British Company Expands US Base

CI is the small US operation of a larger, UK-based company. In the past, the organization had strictly operated as a distribution point, executing orders received at the UK headquarters and shipping product from a contract warehouse in Chicago . The company had identified additional growth opportunities in the US and intended to expand its local footprint. The venture was intended to be centered around a yet to be hired National Sales Manager.
 
Action
We were retained to assist in the recruitment of that key individual, and subsequently support him in establishing the foundation for solid Human Resource policies and structures for further development of a US team
 
Results
At the end of three months the National Sales Manager was on board, and the company had identified warehouse space to rent. HR-documents (e.g. Employee Handbook, Operating Principles, Job Descriptions, etc.) were in final draft, awaiting approval from the UK, and a short list of warehouse staff were in final interview stage. We installed an administrative assistant in place. After five month the company’s own US entity was operational and the National Sales Manager had been enabled to focus on market penetration without being burdened by administrative or operational tasks.
